About Cody
Oliver Cody Ryan was a bright spark in this world and will be deeply missed. He touched the lives of so many people. This website is to celebrate his beautiful life!
Our baby Oliver Cody was born on November 18, 1987 in Houston, Tx. Since the minute he was born he has been the best baby, child & man we could of ever dreamed of. We have always called him Cody. He went by Cody until late in High School where some classmates started calling him Oliver. He liked it and everyone from college on knew him as Oliver. He grew up in Pearland and started playing sports at the YMCA. Basketball was his favorite and continued playing through early teens.
We bought a cabin on Inks Lake in the hill country when he was 10 years old. We spent almost every weekend at the lake and water sports became a pastime for us and he quickly became a great skier. From grade school and beyond he excelled at everything he did. He started getting awards in grade school for academic achievements and that jumped started his dream of going to college. He was always a teacher favorite as his personality was hard not to love. He graduated in the top 7% of his class and chose UT Austin as his choice for college.
Always Worked Hard...
His main job through college was at Best Buy where he was top seller month after month. When he chose Computer Science as his Major he had summer jobs as an intern at Emerson and a couple startup companies in Austin. At graduation he chose Dell Computers as his place to start his career. He moved to Plano for the job but got back to Austin as soon as he could. In a few short years he excelled at Dell and became a Software Development Lead and Security Champion. He currently was a Software Senior Engineer with a promotion coming to Software Developer – Principal Engineer.
We know from talking to his team at Dell that he was respected and loved as a team member and friend. He was trying to carve a path to financial freedom. He had purchased 2 properties he was leasing out in the Austin area along with the home he lived in. He always stayed busy working on the properties tweaking them a bit to add his personal touch. He loved coming to the lake on weekends to hone his skiing skills with his dad and going hiking with his fiancée Parisa and their dog Benji.
